Why choose Next.js development?

Next.js is an open-source JavaScript framework that is primarily used in web development. Its key features are server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) that boost the performance of web apps and websites by delivering pre-rendered pages that load quickly. Major companies like Twitch, Hulu, and GitHub trust Next.js for web app development. They use it to ensure their products are responsive, scalable, and perform well under high user volumes.

Next.js development companies benefit from a vast ecosystem of libraries and tools, which allows them to accomplish projects of different scales with this versatile framework.

The framework includes numerous built-in features that improve web development solutions by providing faster load times, which lead to better SEO rankings and a more convenient experience for users.

Next.js works with JavaScript, which is one of the most popular coding languages primarily used for frontend development. This makes it easier for businesses to find a skilled JS development company for their projects.

Apps built in the process of Next.js development can easily scale to accommodate growing user bases and increased traffic, which results in apps remaining reliable and responsive under heavy loads.

Next.js offers features that speed up the production cycle. Its development environment includes hot module replacement and fast refresh, allowing developers to see changes instantly and accelerate the process of Next.js custom development.

The workflow of our Next.js development company

Over our 19+ years in the market, we've refined a workflow that is convenient for us and ensures transparency in the Next.js custom development process for our clients.

  • 1

    Requirement gathering

In our Next.js development company, we begin by scheduling an initial call to understand your specific requirements and the desired outcomes of our collaboration. During this phase, we gather information to discuss with our team, develop a detailed feature breakdown, and estimate the timeline and cost of the web development project.

  • 2

    UI/UX design

During the UI/UX design phase in our software development company, we focus on crafting a completed interface mockup. We develop wireframes and prototypes to ensure the design aligns with your vision. After these preparatory visuals are approved, we create a full-fledged design and hand it off to our developers.

  • 3

    Development environment setup

Before coding, our JS development company sets up a development environment, which includes installing Node.js, configuring Yarn, and implementing version control with Git. This setup ensures a smooth development process, minimizes errors, and maintains consistency for all remote Next.js developers.

  • 4

    Development

During this phase, our Next.js experts turn a design into a functional app. They run frontend development with React components and style them with CSS or Sass. The backend is crafted with server-side logic through API routes. The app can be integrated with the database if needed. We use Next.js features for efficient data fetching and implement state management using tools like Redux.

  • 5

    Quality assurance

Quality assurance is an integral part of our Next.js development process. Our web development company conducts testing using Jest and React Testing Library to ensure that the application is reliable, secure, and performs optimally. Also, after each development iteration we complete, we conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.

  • 6

    Deployment

As a part of JS development services, we assist our customers with the deployment process. Within this procedure, we set up an IT infrastructure where an application can be deployed. When the web app development process is completed, the created app will be deployed in the production environment where it can be accessed by users.

  • 7

    Post-release maintenance

When the web development of your product is completed, our commitment continues as we provide maintenance services. Remote Next.js developers fix bugs, add new features, and make enhancements based on user feedback. We also manage the infrastructure where your software is deployed. FAQ

What is Next.js and how does it differ from React?

Next.js is a React framework maintained by Vercel. React itself is a library for building user interfaces; on its own, it leaves the rest of a production app for you to handle. Next.js provides that out of the box: server-side and static rendering, file-based routing, data fetching, and built-in optimization for images, fonts, and JavaScript bundles. It's also how most teams run modern React features like Server Components in production, so you start with a complete setup instead of assembling one.

Is Next.js frontend or backend?

Next.js is mainly a frontend framework, but it can also run backend code. On the frontend, it renders your React UI with server-side and static rendering. On the backend, it handles API routes, server actions, and data fetching, which covers light server logic like a contact form or a few endpoints. For heavier backends with complex business logic, large datasets, or multiple services, we pair Next.js with a dedicated backend such as Laravel and keep it as the frontend layer.

When should I choose Next.js over Astro, Remix, TanStack Start, or plain React?

Next.js is our go-to when a product needs both SEO and rich interactivity, like a SaaS app with public marketing pages and a logged-in dashboard, or a content site on a headless CMS such as Sanity, Payload, or WordPress. A lighter tool fits narrower needs: Astro for a simple, mostly static content site, or plain React with Vite for an internal dashboard with no SEO needs. Remix (now part of React Router v7) and TanStack Start are full-stack React frameworks that give you more explicit control over rendering and data, with fewer built-in conventions than Next.js. For most products we still pick Next.js, partly for the Vercel ecosystem (preview deployments, edge CDN, performance monitoring) and first-class support for new React features.

How much do the services of your Next.js development company cost?

Next.js usually covers the frontend, so the total cost depends on what sits behind it. A mostly frontend build like a landing or marketing site starts at $2,000, and a multi-page corporate website at $5,000. A full web app that includes backend, database, integrations, and DevOps starts at $30,000, and larger builds like multi-tenant SaaS or high-traffic platforms from $60,000. We work either fixed-price for a defined scope or on time and materials at $50/hour plus project management at $400/week. We set the final estimate after scoping the project with you.

How long does Next.js development take?

A mostly frontend marketing or corporate site usually takes 3-8 weeks. A web app that adds a backend and DevOps behind the Next.js frontend takes 3-5 months, and larger builds like multi-tenant SaaS or high-traffic platforms run 6 months and up. Timelines grow with the number of screens, data migration, third-party integrations, and multi-language content. If you need to launch fast, we can ship a first release with the core flows and expand from there.

Who is on the team for a Next.js project?

A typical Next.js team has 4-5 people: a project manager, a UI/UX designer, a frontend developer working in Next.js and React, and a backend developer for APIs and data. A DevOps engineer handles deployment and CI on Vercel or your own cloud. We usually start with one developer per role to set the architecture, then add developers and a team lead as the scope grows, and scale back down closer to launch.

How do you keep sensitive data secure on a Next.js project?

We can sign an NDA before discovery, and during the project we work with least-privilege access, so each person reaches only the parts they need. Secrets and API keys live in environment variables with maintainer-only access, encrypted on Vercel or your cloud. In a Next.js app, sensitive logic and keys stay on the server and never ship in the client bundle. We use secure, httpOnly auth cookies, validate inputs, set CSP headers in next.config to limit cross-site scripting, and rely on trusted auth providers like Auth0. For infrastructure, we deploy on GCP, AWS, or Vercel, with Cloudflare in front for DDoS protection and a web application firewall. These providers offer services and controls that support PCI DSS and SOC 2 programs, though actual compliance depends on how the system is architected.

Can you migrate my React app to Next.js, or from Pages Router to App Router?

Yes. To move a React app onto Next.js, we rebuild routing, add server-side and static rendering, and port the UI screen by screen. To upgrade an existing Next.js app from the Pages Router to the App Router, we work two ways: for smaller, mostly static products we move everything at once, as we did for ronasit.com; for larger apps with complex client-side logic, we migrate page by page while both routers run side by side. Either way, the work includes server component updates, cached data fetching, layout migration, and library compatibility checks.

How do you optimize Next.js performance?

We optimize toward Google's Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint under 200 milliseconds, and a low Cumulative Layout Shift. The main lever is shipping less JavaScript to the browser, so we default to React Server Components, limit 'use client', and split code by route. On assets, we use next/image, next/font, and caching, and we keep interactions smooth by avoiding unnecessary re-renders, increasingly with the React Compiler instead of manual memoization. Heavy UI like long lists, tables, charts, or animations gets high-performance or virtualized libraries, with skeletons and smooth transitions so nothing feels frozen. Performance is part of our code review, where we catch issues like memory leaks. We measure results from real users in Search Console, and use Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights as lab tools to spot issues during development.

Who owns the source code and IP after the project?

You own 100% of the code, IP, and designs from day one. We can work under an NDA and either build in our repository with full access for your team, or commit directly to your repository. At handover, you get everything to run and continue the project: source code, documentation, designs, credentials, and deployment setup, including your Vercel or cloud project. There's no lock-in, so you can keep developing with us, your own team, or another vendor.
