Project idea

Our client was preparing to launch a feature-rich superapp for managing smart home devices such as lighting, security, and climate controls. They needed a high-converting landing page to introduce the product, communicate its key benefits, and generate early leads.

Key objectives

The client approached us with a clear set of goals and a fixed budget established in advance. Our responsibilities included:

Delivery within the client’s pre-defined price and tight project deadline
End-to-end landing page design, from research and UX to high-fidelity UI
Full web development for both desktop and mobile experiences
Integration of newsletter signup

Our approach to fixed-price projects

Working with fixed-price contracts means maximum clarity and commitment from the very beginning. Our process is built on establishing detailed agreements "up front". This sets a foundation of transparency and mutual understanding throughout the process.

Key principles:
Fixed scope of work

At project initiation, we precisely define and document the scope of work. This means all tasks, deliverables, and boundaries of the project are described and understood by all parties.

Clear acceptance criteria

We agree and fix objective criteria for accepting completed work. These benchmarks are unambiguous, allowing both sides to verify when the work is done and meets the expected quality.

Confirmed deadlines

Project timelines are established and fixed during the negotiation phase. This includes all intermediate milestones and final delivery dates.

Strict change control

Throughout the project, we carefully monitor that neither party changes the agreed scope, acceptance criteria, or deadlines.

UI/UX design

Research and moodboarding

Our design team started by reviewing current trends in smart home user interfaces and researching visual strategies to appeal to a tech-forward audience. We created a moodboard inspired by calming, high-tech aesthetics, using blue and teal to convey innovation and security.

Wireframes and client approval

Low-fidelity wireframes established the core information hierarchy and user journey. We provided two initial directions — one emphasizing illustrations, another focusing on real device photos. The client opted for a concept that blended both.

Design system and visual assets
To maintain consistency and speed development, we use our design system variables:

— Flexible layout templates for both desktop and mobile

— Modular color scales and type styles

High-fidelity layouts

We produced final designs for all breakpoints, paying special attention to conversion-focused CTAs and mobile accessibility.

Web development

Our web developer built out the frontend using Next.js:

— Pixel-perfect rendering of designs across device formats
— Efficient, modular code for future expansion
— Integration of signup form and Google Analytics tracking
Project process

Client-set budget

From the initial brief, the client established a fixed price. We carefully evaluated the scope, confirmed it was deliverable within the given budget, and proceeded with full transparency.

Lean communication

Our designer and developer coordinated closely at every stage for seamless handoff and rapid iteration.

Short turnaround

Frequent updates to the client provided timely feedback, keeping the project on track for completion ahead of schedule.

Challenges and solutions

Working within a pre-determined budget required careful planning: we focused on a concise, high-impact structure with only essential content and animation.

However, creating a distinct yet approachable visual identity helped the landing page stand out in a busy market.

Results

We delivered the project on time (ready in under three weeks) and within the client’s fixed budget. The client appreciated our ability to quickly validate requirements, stick to scope, and maintain open, responsive collaboration.
